MY STORY

My journey began over 25 years ago in London, where I trained and worked as an interior designer before discovering my true passion for lighting. It was during an interior design project in Switzerland, where a renowned lighting consultant was brought in, that my career took a new direction.

I quickly realised that no matter how much attention is given to the interior decor and finishes it’s the lighting that elevates the space and gives it heart.

EXPERIENCE

Over the years I’ve worked on a wide range of projects from contemporary Passivhaus to Grade II and even Grade I Listed buildings. I’ve designed lighting for gardens, dental surgeries and hospitality although the majority of my work is for residential projects.

Years ago I set up and ran a lighting and interiors showroom where I gained invaluable insights into efficacy and longevity of various lighting products. I’ve also learned that while it’s often worth investing in quality lighting, it doesn’t always have to come at a high cost. Even a simple, well-placed narrow beam downlight can have a stunning effect. The key is careful planning to achieve the best results.

I’ve given talks on lighting at the Home Build show at Earls Court (as was) and the National Self Build & Renovation Centre: I’ve also written several articles for national building magazines.

No two projects are the same and so the best route is to have a telephone conversation first to find out how much help you need. Both services are individually tuned to your project but for more complicated builds or renovations a site visit may be advisable.

I often work closely with architects and interior designers as well as co-ordinating with electrical contractors to ensure your project runs smoothly.
